The Community Services Department oversees all the City parks, cemeteries, Maytag Pool, Westwood Golf Course including cemetery records and lot sales, pool and golf course operations and park operations (park shelter rentals, park leagues and activities). The division is also responsible for airport oversight and contracts, and the annual Capital Improvement Plan. Newton Municipal Airport - Earl Johnson Field - elevation 953 feet Airport consists of a 5,600 foot long by 100 foot wide runway, associated taxiways, apron areas, 18 hangars, terminal building, and maintenance hangar. The airport manager and FBO services are under contract with Johnson Aviation, Inc. Parks & Recreation Newton has five city parks, one municipal golf course, three neighborhood parks, four recreational areas, one swimming pool, and one undeveloped park.
