Founded in 1922, the Izaak Walton League is one of the nation's oldest and most respected conservation organizations. With a powerful grassroots network of nearly 300 local chapters nationwide, the League takes a common-sense approach toward protecting our country's natural heritage and improving outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans. We invite you to learn about our work and to join us in supporting important conservation initiatives in your community. Located at 889 Hwy F36 W. in Newton, Iowa, the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League was chartered September 20, 1945. The forty acres of land where the club is located today was purchased in 1950. The Club House and 3.5 acre pond was built by club members and dedicated in August of 1951. Over the years, an addition has been added onto the Club House, and the grounds include a full trap and rifle range and archery range.
