About

Over 3000 square feet of unique home decor for inside and out.

My journey into owning my own business started as a child. I was in 4-H when I was young and enjoyed making my projects and bringing them to the Jasper County fair. When I was in high school I took shop class, woodworking and advanced woodworking. Then when my children were growing up I would make projects and take them to craft shows to sell. As all my children entered school I decided to open a storefront. I named my store The Farmer’s Wife as my husband is a farmer and I am proud of that.

I still enjoy making many of the items that I sell in my store along with a wide variety of other home decor and gift ware. I have salvaged many houses up for demolition and torn down old dilapidated barns for the barn wood.

The Farmer’s Wife located on the NW corner of the Newton square has been in business since 2002. With the ups and downs surrounding this business I am looking forward to serving my customers that no longer live in this community. I have also heard from others that visit friends and family and love to shop my store when in the area and these customers requested that I  have a website to order from. So I am hoping to share my creativity with a wider customer base through their suggestion.

At our store we have 3,000 sq feet which is packed wall to wall, ceiling to floor with gift and home decor. I also offer a large selection of one of a kind pieces made out of re-purposed, salvaged and up-cycled furniture as well as other materials from those old houses and barns. Next time your in the store ask about our custom pieces. We would love to create something special and unique for you, such as our family name pallet plaques and signs, custom shelves, and pallet art.

When a customer comes in with a picture of a wall or room I am eager to use my 14 years of experience to help them to find the pieces that will work best with their personal taste as well as lifestyle.
