Psychiatric Services Capstone employs one part-time psychiatrist and three full-time Physician's Assistants (PA), and two part-time Physician's Assistants. These providers work with patients and their mental health therapist (if applicable) to diagnose and treat mental health conditions with the use of psychotropic medications. Mental Health Services Our large treatment staff brings extensive experience in mental health treatment and expertise needed to treat a variety of mental health concerns for children, adults, couples, and families. Substance Abuse Services Capstone employs two counselors who can provide substance abuse services. Both providers complete substance abuse evaluations, for clients who are self-referred or have been referred by the courts. These providers also complete OWl evaluations. An individualized treatment plan will be created for each client, and follow-up appointments will be scheduled consistently throughout treatment based on each dient's specific needs. Finally, each provider will work with the client's mental health counselor (if applicable) to ensure proper care for both substance abuse and mental health diagnoses is being provided. PCIT (Parent Child Interactive Therapy) Parent Child Interaction Therapy is available at Capstone for children ages 2-7 who are exhibiting disruptive behaviors such as, being disobedient, unable to pay attention, hitting and/or other aggressive behaviors. PCIT has been studied and shown to decrease disruptive behaviors in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and Autism. During PCIT a therapist works with both the child and their caregiver(s) in special play. The goal of therapy is to make more positive interactions between the child and caregiver(s) and to educate caregivers on how to better deal with disruptive behaviors. Much of treatment is done through the use of a two-way mirror. The therapist can see and hear the child and caregiver(s) interact and coaches the caregiver through the use of an ear piece. Integrated Health Home Capstone's Integrated Health Program provides a team of professionals working together to provide whole- person, patient-centered, coordinated medical, behavioral and social support services for Medicaid eligible adults with mental illness. The Integrated Health Program is a free service for those who qualify. The program is designed to improve access to care; improve the overall health care experience; and improve health outcomes of participants. The Integrated Health Program coordinates services for individuals receiving Habilitation Services CAPSTONE BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE 641.792.4012 1123 1st Ave E #200, Newton, IA 50208 who are not on another Waiver. Jail Diversion The Jail Diversion Program is available to individuals in Jasper and Poweshiek Counties who are in contact with the criminal justice system because of a mental health or co-occurring disorder. Jail Diversion Program staff are able to assist with locating housing, applying for food assistance/community assistance programs, assistance in locating employment, budgeting, ensuring appropriate medical and behavioral health care is in place, promoting independent living skills and identifying and intervening where there are gaps in care, and strengthening natural supports. Staff also provide goal-related transportation. Representative Payee Capstone Behavioral Healthcare Representative Payee Services Assist individuals who receive Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income Benefits through the Social Security Administration. The Representative Payee manages benefits for individuals who are unable to successfully manage their own finances and pay their monthly bills consistently. Supported Community Living Capstone has a 6 bed group home and 16 unit apartment building that offers Supported Community Living Services. Capstone Supported Community Living offers access to staff 24 hours a day, but these staff are not on site continuously. Capstone has a 4 bed house (JT's Place) that offers Supported Community Living Services. This site is a habilitation funded site. This site also offers access to staff 24 hours a day and currently is staffed based on each individual and their needs.
