Naturalist duties comprise 60% of the job, while administrative duties 40%. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting naturalists to create, implement and teach environmental education programs, maintain registration records for programs and events/collect and deposit fees, assist with the planning and implementation of family events, organize annual volunteer awards banquet and fundraising events, assist with maintenance of education animals, help to prepare and mail quarterly newsletter, help design and develop printed material and visual displays, market and promote outdoor recreation and environmental education programs via web and social media, help to coordinate volunteers and volunteer activities, screen and respond to incoming calls and general correspondence, prepares monthly bills for approval by the Jasper County Conservation Board, complete and maintain time sheets and payroll records, manage MYCOUNTYPARKS.COM (MCP) website including camping, cabin, shelter, and program reservations, clean and prepare cabins and cottages when reservations are made on MCP website, and clean nature center facility as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Preference given to applicants with a degree from an accredited 4-year college (or equivalent experience) with major coursework in environmental education, animal ecology, natural resources, outdoor recreation, education, or a related natural science field. Must possess valid driver's license. SALARY: $20.95-$25.78/hour based upon education and experience. Job includes benefits and IPERS.
