About

Mahaska Communication Group (MCG) is a telecommunication company based in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The worldwide Musco Sports Lighting Company formed MCG, headquartered in Oskaloosa, to overcome the limitations with the local telecommunication services to provide reliable, high-quality communication services for Musco. These services must be offered publicly to the residents and businesses for the Oskaloosa community's economic development and future viability. MCG embarked on a community-wide build-out plan and proceeded to develop an all-fiber-to-the-home network at affordable rates. An all-fiber state-of-the-art network can adapt enhanced services for years to come. Today, MCG provides high-quality service to over 5,400 residents and 585 businesses in Oskaloosa, Lake Ponderosa, Montezuma, New Sharon, and Sigourney with 500 rural wireless customers in Marion, Mahaska, Poweshiek, Keokuk, and Wapello Counties. With that dedication and commitment to providing a reliable network to the communities served, in 2020, MCG embarked on its first underground all-fiber network in Sigourney and is currently underway building out Grinnell. An all-fiber underground network provides many advantages over an aerial build: aesthetically appealing with fewer cables and wires hanging from pole-to-pole in neighborhoods, reduced risk of damage from severe weather, human accidents, and fires, making it a more reliable network.
